Dress Code

Travel &amp; Transportation Airports (If You Plan to Stay in Avignon) Paris (CDG) From Charles de Gaulle Airport, you can take a high-speed TGV train to Avignon. The journey takes approximately 2.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on the number of stops. For more details, please see the Trains section below. Marseille (MRS) The closest major airport, located about a 1-hour drive from Avignon by car (taxi/uber or rental car if preferred) Nice (NCE) Approximately a 2.5-hour drive from Avignon and Château de Tourreau. A great option if you plan to explore the French Riviera before or after the wedding. Train:Taking the Train from Paris to Avignon We recommend taking the TGV (high speed train) if you're traveling from Paris to Provence. It's fast, scenic, and convenient, as you can board the train directly from Charles de Gaulle airport and arrive at the Avignon train station. The journey can last anywhere between 2.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on the number of stops. The Avignon train station is also home to many car rental agencies, making it easy to rent a car to explore the Provence region. Book tickets in advance as the prices will rise closer to the departure date. Avoid booking a train that leaves less than 90 minutes after your flight lands. If the price difference between a first and second class ticket is small, consider upgrading to first class - it's significantly less crowded and stressful. We recommend using the Trainline website to book tickets: https://www.thetrainline.comBe sure to specify the departure point as Charles de Gaulle (assuming you leave directly from the airport) and the arrival point as Avignon TGV. If you just search 'Avignon' only, you may be shown slower local trains to the Avignon city center station instead of the high-speed option that will drop you off just a 10 minute cab ride outside of Avignon. Car:Renting a Car in France Château de Tourreau is located in the countryside, as are most recommended activities. If you're taking the train to Avignon from Paris, there are several car rental agencies located directly outside of the TGV train station. If you're flying into Marseille or Nice, you can rent a car at the airport. The French drive on the right side of the road, and signs are generally easy to follow. With that said, here are a few tips for driving around the area: 1. We caution using your phone for navigation. Consider a GPS device with your car as cell service can be spotty at times.2. While most country roads are toll-free, highways can have expensive tolls, and some booths only accept coins or cards (excluding American Express).

Located in the heart of Avignon’s historic center, Hôtel de Cambis is a 4-star boutique hotel offering 41 rooms and suites.The hotel is ideally situated just behind Avignon’s famous medieval walls, very close to the Palais des Papes, the Gare (train station), and other cultural landmarks, making it convenient for both sightseeing and enjoying local heritage. We have block of fifteen rooms reserved at this hotel for the nights of July 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th. Room rates include breakfast and range from €350–€400 per night. This 5 star hotel offers 39 rooms and 5 spacious and luxuriously decorated suites. An ideal point of departure full of history, from which you can visit the Cité des Papes.The hotel's restaurant " La Vielle Fontaine" is masterfully led by Chef Pascal Auger, long recognized by the most well-known gourmet gastronomic guides. We have a block of 23 rooms on hold in this hotel starting at 515€/night for July 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th. Hotel La Mirande is famous for its intricately renovated interiors. No expenses were spared to carefully restore what had survived from the past. In a brilliant endeavor, a secret private place was converted into a luxurious 5-star hotel without intruding on the soul of the building.&nbsp;

The hotel du Palais des Papes is located in Avignon, in front of the Papal Palace. It stands on 3 floors and benefits from a completely pedestrian area. Free WiFi is provided. The hotel du Palais des Papes offers comfortable rooms opening either on the Palais des Papes or on the Horloge Square. The Lutrin (the hotel restaurant) offers a varied menu inspired by traditional and Provencal cuisine, and is renewed with the seasons.&nbsp; Please note booking for July opens in February.

La Banasterie is the oldest B&amp;B in Avignon, dating back to the year 1521 and it is located in the heart of the city. A continental breakfast is provided each morning at La Banasterie. Guests can also sample traditional cuisine in the restaurants found within walking distance. Avignon Tourist Attraction In the 14th century, this world-renowned building served as the residence of six popes and was the center of Western Christianity. It’s part of a UNESCO-listed ensemble of structures in Avignon and stands as one of the largest and most significant Gothic buildings in the world. It’s a must-see if you're in the region. The architecture showcases the height of medieval craftsmanship and reflects the opulence and grandeur enjoyed by the popes during their exile from the Vatican. You can explore more than 20 rooms, including the papal apartments of Clement VI, where exquisite Gothic frescoes by Matteo Giovanetti still survive today. Day Trip This is one attraction you won’t want to miss between June and August, when the lavender is in full bloom. If there’s a single image that captures everything people love about Provence, it’s the pale stone walls of this Romanesque abbey, framed by cypress trees and set against a vibrant lavender field. Dating back to the 1100s, the abbey is often included in regional lavender tours. Try to visit early in the day, when the soft morning light hits the fields and the crowds are still minimal. The resident monks support themselves through lavender cultivation and also keep bees for honey production. True to Romanesque design, the building is simple and unadorned—yet it complements its colorful, fragrant surroundings perfectly. (~50min drive from Avignon-most convenient to taxi/uber or book a tour group with transportation provided)

Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque

Day Trip Arguably the crown jewel of the Luberon’s hilltop villages, Gordes clings dramatically to the edge of the Vaucluse Plateau, with its tiered stone houses appearing to defy gravity. Officially named one of the most beautiful villages in France, this postcard-perfect town is a picturesque combination of terracotta rooftops, church spires, and winding cobblestone lanes. Gordes is incredibly popular in the summer months, so it’s best to arrive early or late in the day to avoid the crowds. Better yet, stay for sunset—when the stone glows and the village is at its most magical hours. (2.5-3.5 hour drive, recommend more for full day/overnight trip)

Day Trip L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is one of those must-see destinations in Provence. Known as the “island city,” it sits at the foot of the Vaucluse Plateau, nestled in the plains of the Comtat Venaissin. The town’s colors consist of natural greens and the shimmering reflections of water from the many canals that weave through its center. The River Sorgue encircles the town, as if embracing it. As you stroll along the canals, you’ll notice how they wind between narrow, centuries-old streets. Small stone bridges arch over the water, and old moss-covered water wheels slowly turn in the current. (25-40min by train or bus)

Wine tasting experience To truly experience Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Maison Ogier offers various curated wine experiences set among its exceptional sites. Begin with a guided tour of the Conservatoire des Terroirs, where you’ll discover how different soil types influence the character of the wines. Then, explore the aging cellars to understand how barrel selection shapes the evolution and complexity of each vintage. Your visit culminates in a tasting of five Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines from Maison Ogier—an immersive and memorable way to deepen your appreciation of this iconic appellation. (Uber/taxi recommended)

What weather can I expect?Welcome to Provence! Expect sunny and warm days, so make sure to pack your swimsuit! However, evenings can get a bit chilly, so don't forget to bring a light cardigan or jacket. How do I get to the different locations?Transportation will be provided to and from each event. Please check this website regularly for the latest updates and detailed information. What kind of shoes should I wear?Calling all ladies! Skip the stilettos! There are a few grassy or dirt paths, so we recommend wearing chunky heels or sandals. Can I bring a plus one? We’re so excited to celebrate with you. Because of space limitations, we’re only able to invite the guests named on each invitation.
